Announcement: Low Frequency Series 05

KRUI and Tuesday Night Social Club’s annual Mission Creek pizza party is better than ever this year, and taking a Low Frequency Series twist. Get there at 7pm for FREE pizza, courtesy of The Mill and Your Sound Alternative, KRUI. Then, at 8pm, the music starts. You’ll want to be there early for this one, because it’s solid from top to bottom.

COLOUR REVOLT is a powerhouse band capable of conjuring intense, noisy guitar jams as well as hushed atmospheric moments. Their Mississippi brand of rock takes some Southern turns, but don’t write them off as the next Kings of Leon either. Check out our exclusive video from their in-studio with us last time they were in town.

RAVENS AND CHIMES are energetic and beautiful, their songs are like epic outbursts condensed into three-minute rushes of magic. You might not have heard of them yet, but you will soon. Art rock from NYC, their new single “Division Street” sounds a little like Decemberists circa 2005:

CAROLINE SMITH AND THE GOODNIGHT SLEEPS have become indie-pop darlings in the Midwest. Hailing from the Twin Cities, they’ll be joining us on their way back from SXSW. Smith separates herself from the usual female singer-songwriter pack with a distinct style of song-writing and a genre of music she’s begotten and named “story-book folk.”

You can’t beat this bill, and the best part of it all is that it’s free. Get there early, The Mill will fill up!
